The New Networking: Making Connections That Count Workshop

The New Networking: Making Connections That Count Workshop

This two-hour discussion looks at networking -- a time-honored business development technique that's getting a makeover, thanks to on-line networking sites like LinkedIn. While tech savvy professionals are comfortable making connections on-line, they are often unsure how to use these new contacts to build their personal networks. On the other hand, some people prefer more traditional in-person networking opportunities and are doubtful how to utilize on-line connections. This session takes a look at how to make the most of both. Participants will leave knowing how to get started with each form of networking.

Participants Learn:

How to create the perfect on-line profile and why it's more important than a resume.

What are the best and worst on-line business communities.

How to identify the best networking opportunities for finding potential clients.

How to make the most of first impressions and get past the business card exchange.

How to use exit strategies to get out of dead-end conversations.

How to pave the way for follow-up in even brief encounters.

How to integrate both on-line and in-person networking in your personal business development plan.
